Our school will be putting up an exhibit at the Mother Tongue Languages Symposium (MTLS) is an annual event co-organised by the Ministry of Education, the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, the Malay Language Learning Promotion Committee and the Tamil Language Learning Promotion Committee, with support from the Early Childhood Development Agency, the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism, Singapore Press Holdings and the National Library Board.
Into its seventh year, MTLS 2018 will continue to promote bilingual education and supplement efforts by schools and the community in the teaching and learning of Mother Tongue Languages (MTL). The Symposium will comprise exhibitions, performances, sharing sessions, workshops and the sale of learning resources. Local and international experts as well as celebrity parents will share their insights on creative ways to involve children in the learning of MTL. The Symposium will also showcase schools' continual efforts and success stories in designing innovative programmes and using creative teaching to engage students with their MTL and to promote each MTL as a living and culturally dynamic language. The Symposium will also feature the community's efforts to generate a supportive environment for the learning and use of our MTLs.
