The Stephenian Experience

We Are Stephenians & Lasallians
Credere et Servire - Men of Integrity and Men for Others -  Faith, Service and Community

A Stephenian education is anchored on our Lasallian philosophy of education - Faith, Service & Community - a strong emphasis on values & character, service and a keen awareness and involvement to better the world around us, and the Five Core Principles of a Lasallian Education.

Signum Fidei is Latin for 'Sign of Faith' and refers to the 5-Pointed Star that is both insignia and motto of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (F.S.C.) founded by St. John Baptist de La Salle in 1684 to provide schooling for the boys from poor families. Today, the Christian Brothers Schools are found all across the world, commonly known as the Lasallian schools, after our founder St. John Baptist de La Salle.

The school motto Credere et Servire - To Believe and To Serve - is the clarion call to our Stephenians to always believe and act with a constancy of faith that all is possible, and that one should be a servant leader, to be for the betterment of the people around us, and to always remember the last, the least and the lost.

It is our hope and mission that all who graduate from a Lasallian education at St. Stephen's will become young men grounded in integrity and young men equipped with the skills, knowledge, dispositions and heart to improve and serve  the community, nation and the world at large.
